Short Answer:
Hardly anything. Okay, there is some stuff. However, Groaners for Donors is much easier to organize than most other common fund-raising events, like silent auctions, formal dinners, expensive “famous” speakers, etc. And less expensive, too!
Long Answer:
The amount of work required to host Groaners for Donors is minimal. There is only one contact person to help you customize your event. None of us has an enormous ego, so, like, we’re fairly pleasant to talk to.
We do have some simple, basic needs, like all humans:
- A place for 8 people to stand. (Fancy, like a stage or a platform, or not, like a living room or one end of a conference table. )
- A willing audience. (This shouldn't take too much convincing, but I swear they won’t regret it!)
- A microphone or two. (Sometimes. In some large spaces it is hard to be heard over the incredible amount of laughter.)
- A final count so we know how much money we helped raise. (So we can brag about it and tell the word of your success.)
- And, only if you think we are worthy of your praise, a nice thank you note about how awesome we are. (So we can continue to provide free and spontaneous fun for other people like you who do good things for people.)
